How to get here

Ginsheim has a direct connection to the Autobahn and our neighbouring city of Bischofsheim has an S-bahn station with direct connections from/to Mainz, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Rüsselsheim and beyond. With a short bus ride of 10 minutes you can easily our hotel from the S-bahn station.

The Area

The metropolitan cities in the Rhein-Main area – Mainz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt – are only a stone’s throw away from our hotel and boarding houses. Mainz can be reached by bike, bus and car in only 15 Minutes. You may rent a bike from our hotel or take a bus from the bus station right in front of our hotel. Wiesbaden can be reached in only 20 minutes and Frankfurt in only 30 minutes by train or car (via Autobahn).


At the small harbour across from our hotel, you can rent our a canoe or pedalo on a beautiful sunny day and explore the Rhein and its coastal area. A popular water activity is also Stand Up Paddling, which is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.


You prefer reading a book or taking a walk? Our hotel is located on the Damm with lots of green areas and benches in front of our house. Walking down the Damm to the left, you will reach open fields with beautiful flora and fauna in less than 5 minutes. Walking down the Damm to the right you can follow the Rhein river into green fields.

Take a cruise

Take a cruise with Primus Linie, which starts directly from the Ginsheim harbour across from our hotel. Whether you just want to take a quick break, enjoy the summer breeze, party or relax, summer or winter:  discover Frankfurt from its best side, travel to the famous vineyard region “Rheingau” or enjoy a romantic evening on board with delicious food and wine.


Mainz is only a scenic 15-20 minutes bike ride away, with paths along the Damm and Rhein river. Every Saturday from March to November you can enjoy wines from local vineyards at one of the most unique markets in the region: the Mainzer Marktfrühstück. This breakfast/brunch market is open until 16h. Try local delicacies and wines from a variety of food and drink stands, while enjoying the view at the Mainzer Dome at Liebfrauenplatz.

Wine region

Ride a bike to our neighbouring wine towns, where you can take hikes through vineyards, visit wine festivals (from March to November) or enjoy delicacies and wine at a “Straußwirtschaft”, a seasonally opened gastronomic business from local winegrowers, where they offer homemade wines and food.


Learn more about our wine and wine region with a Funzelfahrt at a local vineyard. A Funzelfahrt is a type of wine tasting that is done while sitting in a wagon and driving through the vineyard. Your guide will explain to you the art of wine growing while you are drinking homemade wine and eating local food.
